I’ve been getting a kick out of townhall meeting videos the past few days. The Congressmen are back in Washington, but these gems, which dipict everyday people getting in the fat faces of the stuffy politicians will live forever.
First up: chick calls oBBama a Nazi and Frank a supporter:
There are two major fallacies in Frank’s response:
#1, Avoiding the question. He doesn’t answer her question. If he was unclear about the link between Hitler and oBBama, then, why not ask instead of avoiding the question? He did ask a question to address the questioner, but it led to the second logical fallacy:
#2, Ad hominem. Instead of answering the question, Frank criticizes the questioner, implying that she was an alien and likening a conversation to her with coffee table. Well, Mr. Frank, a conversation with you is worse, it’s like having a conversation with an ILLOGICAL person. I’d much rather have a conversation with a coffee table!
Second up: Baron Hill forgets who he’s working for
This is just hilarious. Hill is worried about being put into a compromising position so he doesn’t allow video of “his” townhall meeting. The thing is, it seems like it would be very difficult to not see this arrogant jackass in a compromising position. Irony, I love it.
This one is long, but interesting. Tsongas endures a pretty rowdy crowd of antagnists as she spouts her lies about healthcare “reform”:
You have to give her credit for holding her own, but this video clearly shows that there are a very vocal majority of people who are sick of this government sick care plan.
This is outside a townhall meeting, not much content, but an interesting point at the end:
After reading a very interesting and compelling post bringing Obama’s citizenship into questions, I decided to look into this subject myself. After arduous research, I was able to uncover the REAL birth cirtificate of Barack Obama and it’s shocking!!!! Evidently, Obama is American, as it clearly states on the birth cirtificate, but he’s also a hermaphrodite. AND, it turns out that his parents were clairvoyant because they nicknamed him “the one” at birth! This is truly amazing stuff.See for yourself, this should dispell any rumors that Barack Obama was born outside the U.S.
CARACAS (AFP) — Venezuelan unions estimated that nearly 22,000 oil contractors stand to lose their jobs after President Hugo Chavez’s government seized the assets of 60 local and foreign-owned oil firms.
“This law does not benefit us,” Bernardino Chirinos, leader of the Union of Oil Workers in the western state of Zulia, told El Nacional newspaper.
“There are 35,000 workers on the east coast (of Zulia state) and only 8,000 will be absorbed. There are 22,000 workers without guarantees.”
Venezuela, the Americas’ largest oil exporter, began Friday to expropriate some oil service providers, a day after the National Assembly passed a law extending the state’s control to all activities related to the oil industry
It makes you wonder how far off America is from a situation like this. Most of the country supports or even loves President Obama, who is beating out Bush as the most socialist president of all time. All he wants is government control and people are giving him a pass.
What were his campaign promises? More transparency? Bring the troops back? No tax increases on 95% of Americans?
What a fucking joke! Obama’s pushed through shit legislation (the bailout) before the legislators (much less the AMerican taxpayer) had a chance to sniff it over. He’s failed in setting the course to bring home the troops (where are all the anti-war protesters now?). And he already signed tax increases on cigarettes and is primed to tax income higher than he promised.
Obama’s bailing out car companies who, in turn, squander that taxpayer money by going bankrupt. Obama’s budget is absolutely abhorrent and going to put us into more debt than anyone can really imagine. And Obama wants to pass legislation limiting small farms and consolidating big farms under more government reulation.
Why not just take over all the oil companies and tech firms and medical firms? Why not just begin the American socialist movement in earnest you commie mother fucker?
All you ass wipes who support this socialist answer one question: what’s there left to regulate if everyone’s a regulator?
Yet another rejection of the government-whore’s constituents’ requests to limit federal government:
Thank you for contacting me to share your concerns about H.R. 875, the Food Safety Modernization Act of 2009. It was good to hear from you, and I welcome the opportunity to respond to your comments.
Due to recent and historic concerns regarding food safety regulations in our country, many in Congress are keenly interested in finding equitable solutions to our regulatory problems. There is certainly a need to reform and rethink the operations of the FDA and related agencies. Currently, three different agencies have overlapping jurisdiction over the food supply. None has overarching authority or responsibility for the quality of food. Contaminants are not even subject to a single standard. Instead, from the field to the table, different rules apply.
H.R. 875 would create a dedicated Food Safety Administration within the Department of Health and Human Services to deal with these concerns. A dedicated food safety agency is certainly an idea worthy of serious consideration, and I will monitor this bill closely as it moves through the legislative process.
I certainly understand your concerns, and I will keep your thoughts in mind. In considering changes to both food safety and agriculture industry regulation, I believe that the needs of American’s consumers must be our first priority. We must also find ways to manage the regulatory process while not compromising the nutrition of foods or undermining the efforts of small and organic farmers.
Once again, thank you for contacting me. As your representative, I both need and value your perspective. Please sign up for my E-Newsletter on my website www.house.gov/susandavis, if you would like to receive regular updates about what is happening in Congress.
With warm regards,
SUSAN A. DAVIS
Member of Congress
Why don’t you warm yourself up with these regards: fuck you! Here’s another perspective on the bill (from Campaign For Liberty):
Pay special attention to
Section 3 which is the definitions portion of the bill-read in it’s entirety.
section 103, 206 and 207- read in it’s entirety.
Red flags I found and I am sure there are more………..
Legally binds state agriculture depts to enforcing federal guidelines effectively taking away the states power to do anything other than being food police for the federal dept.
Effectively criminalizes organic farming but doesn’t actually use the word organic.
Affects anyone growing food even if they are not selling it but consuming it.
Affects anyone producing meat of any kind including the processing wild game for personal consumption.
Legislation is so broad based that every aspect of growing or producing food can be made illegal. There are no specifics which is bizarre considering how long the legislation is.
Section 103 is almost entirely about the administrative aspect of the legislation. It will allow the appointing of officials from the factory farming corporations and lobbyists and classify them as experts and allow them to determine and interpret the legislation. Who do you think they are going to side with?
Section 206 defines what will be considered a food production facility and what will be enforced up all food production facilities. The wording is so broad based that a backyard gardener could be fined and more.
Section 207 requires that the state’s agriculture dept act as the food police and enforce the federal requirements. This takes away the states power and is in violation of the 10th amendment.
There are many more but by the time I got this far in the legislation I was so alarmed that I wanted to bring someone’s attention to it. (to the one person who reads my blog)
So, let me get thi straight, Obama gives Chrysler $4,000,000,000 to stay in business and produce shitty cars that no body wants, then he “guides” them into bankruptcy. Fuck you!
The next time you want to spend my money on a failing company, maybe you can kiss my ass first?
So, the government took money from our future and taxes to bailout banks that were about to collapse. Of course, with that money came a lot of regulation and bullshit (no surprise). So the banks that got the aid want to repay their debt–probably sooner than the federal government had hoped. So, Timothy Geithner says that the banks have to meet strict guidelines in order to pay back the American people:
Treasury Secretary Timothy F. Geithner said yesterday that the “ultimate test” for determining which banks can repay government bailout money is whether the entire financial system is capable of offering enough credit to revive the economy.
Geithner’s remarks indicate that regulators will require banks to meet high standards to get out from under the government’s thumb. Industry and federal officials are bracing for a showdown over this issue beginning Friday when the chief financial officers of 19 of the nation’s major banks will be summoned to the Federal Reserve and told the results of the government’s “stress tests.”
If this doesn’t deserve the biggest “Fuck You” award, I don’t know what does. It looks like the government’s seemingly benevolent actions were really done just to control the banking industry. But they can’t do that if the banks are operating without the taxpayers’ money, so Geithner wants to FORCE the banks to keep the money by rejecting their level of soundness.
This journalist is so busted she makes Janet Cooke look good. How’s this for “family viewing”—a journalist interrupting her interviewee and pointing a finger yelling propaganda about how everyone is getting all this money (presumably for free). Well, Susan, where do you think that money comes from? It comes from taxes (which we pay) or it comes from inflated currency, which those furthest away from the big banks (you and me) end up paying more for. This is a classic example of biased shit you see on network news. Give me a break and go fuck yourself Susan Roesgen!
She continually goes against her constituents for her votes and needs to be ejected from office. Here’s the latest letter I’ve received from her:
Thank you for contacting me with your concerns regarding H.R. 384, the TARP Reform and Accountability Act of 2009. It was good to hear from you and I welcome the opportunity to respond to your comments.
As you may know, H.R. 384 passed the House of Representatives with bi-partisan support on January 21, 2009 and is currently awaiting action in the Senate. This bill is a necessary step to correcting a lack of adequate tracking by the Bush Administration’s Treasury Department on the first $350 billion of the Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP). It provides a structure for oversight in order to strengthen accountability, close loopholes, limit executive bonuses, increase transparency and force banks to report how government funds are being spent.
Nevertheless, I certainly understand and appreciate your concerns regarding the interaction between private industry and government. While we still must be careful not to over-regulate business, the current financial crisis has very clearly shown that the absolute, unregulated free market system is simply not workable and some sensible government controls must be applied.
Although we may not agree on this particular issue, I hope that we can continue to work together in the future. Thanks again for being in touch. As your representative, I both need and value your input. Notice how everything wrong is Bush’s fault (even though he didn’t pass the bill- she did!)
