Maybe because they are a bunch of fascists?
I wrote a review about “Plato and a Platypus Walk into a Bar” and made a dig about the authors’ politics being biased and unappealing. And what does Amazon do? They pull my review and another review about a friend of mine’s book. Very interesting, you fascists sons of bitches.

My buddy wrote this book- it will rock your foundations!
Why do atheists and believers argue for hours without first defining “God?”
Why do people describe Nazis and Soviets in exactly the same way yet place them on opposite ends of the political spectrum?
Why do some judge others for being judgmental? Why are some psychologists trying to disprove psychology? And how does arguing show that we really agree?
In the fascinating and groundbreaking new work, Everyone Agrees, J.S.B. Morse uncovers clues to these riddles and reveals how disagreements are merely the result of a difference in perspective of a shared “mountain of truth.” Using entertaining examples from both scientific literature and pop culture, Morse breaks down the popular “us-against-them” and morally relative mentalities, proving that everyone really does agree, even when it comes to such hot-button issues as politics, religion, and the NFL’s best quarterback.
Everyone Agrees offers an introduction to the theory of concurrence, a unique take on human behavior which places logic (or simple common sense) at the heart of a universal morality. With the same accessible style and penetrating insight found in Morse’s first two books, The Evolution Diet and How To Take Advantage of the People Who Are Trying to Take Advantage of You, Everyone Agrees provides an entirely new perspective on perspective itself.

These propaganda pieces are classic. The tri-color image of Obama with “Progress” or “Change” on the bottom. I had to mix it up a little bit.

By the way, what do you think of when Obama says “change”? It’s not very clear is it? Chances are everyone has a different idea of what that means. How about a candidate who spells out what he wants for this country: L-I-B-E-R-T-Y!

I was so ecstatic to see that my book (picture and link on the right) surpassed 1,000,000 on Amazon! That was until I found out that the higher, the worse it’s doing.
Comon people! It’s a great book- one for the ages. Buy 10 and give them away to your friends and fellow Boomer-haters
You’re the best!

(What a great title to a review of the Baby Boomers, huh?!?)
When it comes to generations, Brokaw is an inbetweener (like us gen Xers) who was sandwiched between the Greatest Generation and the Boomers. The result of his perspective (and journalistic excellence) is an unbiased, if often saccharine, portrayal of the Baby Boomers through play-by-play of history and reflection. This time, the reflection is a little more fitting than when it was carried out when the generation was in their twenties–note that Joe Queenan’s hilarious Balsamic Dreams derides the same generation for “premature nostalgia” in the ’70s.

The Boomers did some pretty interesting things (and drugs) and the result is a pretty entertaining story. This book is a thoughtful review of that story and the reaction of the rest of the world from the Boomers’ defining moments including the summer of love and the civil rights movement.
(By the way, I wrote a book called Why Baby Boomers Suck!: (No Offense Mom), but I try to have an open mind)

This is a good Boomer-skewed perspective of the last 60 years and a small perspective on what the future is going to be like. I really enjoyed the positive attitude that the author shares, but I feel like he’s making the Boomer revolution out to be more important than it was. Yes, the Boomers went through some amazing times (Civil Rights movement, Viet Nam, the British Invasion, microwavable meals), but as I clearly describe in my humble effort Why Baby Boomers Suck!: (No Offense Mom), the Boomers can’t take credit for any of that and need to really work hard in the last 40 of “their century” to live up to the potential they had with such a huge swath of population.

There is a lot to write about in regard to Charlie Wilson’s War—most notably the excellent acting, the Religious implications, and how rockin Julia Roberts’ body was. But I want to focus on another topic in this post—one which won’t get too much airtime in most blogs or mass media outlets: the insinuation that a womanizing Texas drunk single handedly brought down the Soviet Empire. From the very beginning, credit is given to the Congressman Wilson for altering history—without Charlie, history would be sadly different, a speaker says. Perhaps, but to give him lone credit and ignore Reagan’s arm race like a cheap whore with leprosy is to portray a outright lie.

Yes, it’s likely that the Congressman made a push to arm the Afghani Mujahideen after he saw the news anchor guy in a turban (though it’s also likely that he did so to avoid being discovered as a huge tub of lard wasting hundreds of thousands of tax-payer dollars on sluts and coke). Regardless of his motives, his actions probably contributed, but Crile’s book and Sorkin’s screenplay ignore the most important factor in the downfall of the Soviet Union: the fact that their economy was a piece of shit sham that was spiraling downward faster than lead Zeppelin in a fart storm.
I don’t appreciate Reagan’s budget deficits, but he pushed the arms race (including the nuclear one) to heights that the Commies couldn’t handle. The Soviets were dumping everything into their military and overextending themselves and we Americans just flicked a switch and produced the most advanced military ever.
The makers of CWW want us to believe that the Majahideen, supported by Charlie’s machismo defeated the Soviet empire, but that’s a crock and it dampers an otherwise great flick.

Some things I noticed- the fact that so many people give the book five stars and so many people give it 1 star is indicative of a political book and says something about the state of this country: truth is not the object in much of these ratings–beating the other guy is, unfortunately.
Beck seems like a genuine guy who wants to fix problems, but it seems that he too gets carried away with meaningless rants which only purpose is to defeat the other side.
Beck has a brilliance and an eye to pick up on contradiction like any other talk show host out there and his Amazon Blog is hilarious. I love an author who’s not to big to whoop up his contradictory critics.
That being said, I’m looking forward to reading the book when Amazon gets more copies!

My new book (Why Baby Boomers Suck!) is flying off the shelves like Che Guevera’s hair lockets, and I want to take a moment to thank everyone who has bought it in the last few days. I know it has to be the funniest thing you will read this year and it feels good to identify with other younger generation peeps who are in the same Boomer shadow that you’re in. If you haven’t already gotten the book from Amazon or your local Barnes and Noble, I’m offering five—count ‘em FIVE free copies to the first five people to send me a comment (through the About page) with a unique stat or tidbit (somebody else can’t have stated it before) about the book. Just go to the Amazon page or do some other research and send me a comment. I’ll reveal the comments in 1 week and get the books shipped off after that. Good luck!
